The coolest part about the character creator though is how it actually changes your character’s visual appearance. While some mixtures will go best together depending on how you want to play (melee, ranged or psi-based), you’re not hampered for choosing one over the other. You’re some sort of a Racoon/Cat/Squirrel-like creature and you start by choosing your breed from six different choices, each of which has its own advantages and traits, then your attributes and class. The world is so full and so rich with characters and narrative that it’s hard to not get sucked into someone’s side quest simply because of their personality or spend an hour in an abandoned town looking for every piece of hidden loot.īefore you begin your adventure though you’ll first need to create your character. The campaign itself should take you about 10-15 hours or so, but that’s only if you ignore the massive amount of side quests, exploration and puzzles you’ll come across during your journey. Which faction will you side with? Will you show mercy or destroy everything in your path. Whatever choices you make along the way, the Narrator is with you every step, describing the story about your actions and consequences. The land is also controlled by six different factions, all divided up via their own specific ideologies and these nations are in need of someone to either unite or defeat them. You will determine how you want to proceed, and thus, the fate of the world is in your hands. Its roots are massive, spread into different corners of the world, and it is bleeding due to four massive World Eater creatures trying to destroy it. The Tree-of-Life is what keeps the world going but over pollution has caused it to become sick and dying. Oh, and you play as some sort of Racoon/Cat/Squirrel creature, so there’s that.Īn unusual story with an unusual end is how developers describe Biomutant’s narrative, and after getting through it all and working on a New Game+ playthrough, I’d have to agree. There are other nods to many other games like the Zelda franchise, Devil May Cry, Fallout and more, but I kept getting that Fable feeling the more hours I sunk into Biomutant’s fascinating world. If I had to compare Biomutant directly with another game I’d lean towards Fable, but with a post-apocalyptic setting filled with guns and kung-fu. Biomutant does what many games do, taking inspiration from other great titles while having their own take on certain aspects. This was the case with Biomutant.ĭeveloped by Experiment 101, it is a smaller dev-team comprised of former Just Cause developers and a few other industry types, for a total of about 20 staff. Every now and then there’s a title or franchise where I don’t have high expectation or wouldn’t have thought much of it, but then once in awhile I get to play a gem that I’m absolutely blown away in the best way. Then something magical happened it arrived in my lap to review and I have to say, the game has seriously surprised me. Truth be told, I wasn’t really following its development until the past few months when it seemed the release was finally going to happen. Since then, development goal dates have come and gone, but not anymore, as its' long awaited release date is almost here.

One great new feature is PaintLink that enables you and a friend to collaborate on the same painting in real-time. These are here to smooth out ArtRage's rough edges and makes this edition even easy to jump into and start painting. There are some good new ideas in ArtRage Vitae but as I mentioned above many of these are hidden or subtly introduced. ArtRage Vitae review: new featuresĪrtRage Vitae now includes collaboration tools (Image credit: Ian Dean) If you're used to more traditional UI, such as in Photoshop or Rebelle, you may find this limiting. I love it, but I've been using it since ArtRage 3 so I've become used to the big and chunky look. With all this said, ArtRage's UI may not be for everyone. There is a small learning curve as ArtRage has its own naming conventions for some common tools, and learning how to tailor its real paint simulations can take time to figure out. The streamlined look means there's more room given over to the canvas, and you rarely feel like the menus are overcrowding the painting space. But its UI remains one of the best for newcomers, as it hides a lot of its depths behind sliders and easily clicked palettes and drop-down lists. In fact, many of the new features are behind the scenes additions designed to bring the software up to date without compromising the ease of use ArtRage is known for. Some may criticise the chunky UI that hasn’t really changed since that iPad release since its release 18 years ago, but there’s a homely, robust feel to this edition of ArtRage. The UI is bold and chunky but very easy to use (Image credit: Ian Dean)įor this review I'm using an old Wacom Studio tablet running Windows 11, and ArtRage Vitae is a surprisingly smooth experience. In addition, around 180 contributors have designed local features, such as airports or cities.įlightGear renders landscapes around the world with natural-looking vegetation, including impressive mountain scenes from the North American Blue Ridge Mountains to the Himalayas ( Figure 4). It is based on a model of the entire Earth's surface that processes data from the space shuttle program, the global coastline database GSHHG, and data from the European Environment Agency and OpenStreetMap. A huge amount of work was also put into representing the landscape. This means that the aircraft appear realistic from different angles and in different lighting conditions. Without 3D clouds, the FlightGear world appears far less vivid, but it is often sufficient to just reduce the density of the clouds or the distance at which they become visible.įlightGear features numerous aircraft types whose cockpits and exterior views the program renders as 3D models. Experience shows that the 3D clouds option consumes the most graphics capacity. You would normally see a simple slide control here, but if the Custom Settings option is enabled, then the Shader options button opens a dialog for detailed settings ( Figure 3) that govern the rendering quality of scenery display. The Shader Effects have a noticeable influence on the frame rate. The Region-specific option for Terrain Textures colors the terrain and vegetation to match the region, for example, the Blue Ridge Mountains actually look blue instead of green. You can also choose the vegetation density, and decide whether or not trees and bushes should throw shadows. The dialog warns you about the memory consumption, which can climb to 8GB. In the Scenery Layers section you can decide whether FlightGear shows you Pylons and Power lines and objects such as barns ( Scenery Objects), based on a database, and also adds Random Scenery Objects to the landscape. Figure 2: The Rendering Options allow you to adapt FlightGear's resource consumption to an acceptable frame rate on your system. Several students were petrified in the school after the monster were unleashed. Aragog was framed as being the monster and Hagrid was accused of being Slytherin's heir. In 1943, Tom Marvolo Riddle, a descendant of Salazar Slytherin who would later become Lord Voldemort, opened the Chamber of Secrets and unleashed the resident monster, the Serpent of Slytherin, upon the castle to exterminate its Muggle-born population, those who were "unworthy" to study magic. " They believed that I was the monster that dwells in what they call the Chamber of Secrets." - Aragog After Aragog died, some of his venom was taken by Horace Slughorn and was most likely stored in Horace's potion cabinet. Ironically, all spiders feared the Basilisk, as it was their mortal enemy. During his life, Aragog was accused of being Slytherin's Monster, although the monster was really a Basilisk. Īragog had a wife, Mosag, and was the leader of a large Acromantula colony composed of all of his sons and daughters. In his youth, he was the size of a Pekingese and near the end of his life was about the size of a small elephant with an eighteen-foot leg span. Like the rest of his species, Aragog had a taste for human flesh and was able to communicate with humans with speech. 1942 – 20 April 1997) was an Acromantula owned by Rubeus Hagrid. " He had known Hagrid to present a vicious baby dragon with a teddy bear, seen him croon over giant scorpions with suckers and stingers, attempt to reason with his brutal giant of a half-brother, but this was perhaps the most incomprehensible of all his monster fancies: the giant talking spider, Aragog, who dwelled deep within the Forbidden Forest and which he and Ron had only narrowly escaped four years previously." - Harry Potter in his sixth year thinking about Hagrid's friendship with Aragog Īragog (c. The n-th raw moment (i.e., moment about zero) of a distribution is defined by In the mid-nineteenth century, Pafnuty Chebyshev became the first person to think systematically in terms of the moments of random variables. The same is not true on unbounded intervals ( Hamburger moment problem). For two dimensional problems, above figure, we can use the principle of moments. The mathematical concept is closely related to the concept of moment in physics.įor a distribution of mass or probability on a bounded interval, the collection of all the moments (of all orders, from 0 to ∞) uniquely determines the distribution ( Hausdorff moment problem). If the force does not lie in a plane perpendicular to the moment axis. If the function is a probability distribution, then the first moment is the expected value, the second central moment is the variance, the third standardized moment is the skewness, and the fourth standardized moment is the kurtosis. If the function represents mass density, then the zeroth moment is the total mass, the first moment (normalized by total mass) is the center of mass, and the second moment is the moment of inertia. In mathematics, the moments of a function are certain quantitative measures related to the shape of the function's graph. For the physical concept, see Moment (physics). Overall, it's forgettable and the only thing worth it was Tanner and Brady. Don't be yourself in a relationship, become exactly like the person you're with. Which I need to say is a terrible lesson to teach kids. They decided to change the Wet Side Story movie to Lela Queen of the Beach and they completely rewrite Mack's character again! Now she's more laid back to be with Brady. She wouldn't know to change the story.Īnd lastly, that messed up ending. She would only know how to say her lines. Third, Lela is a movie character not a real person. None of them made me attached to the movie. They were mediocre compared to the ones they made in the first one. However the fact that Brady didn't want to tell Mack about making surf boards (when they surf together!) made no sense. They changed Mack's characters completely and Brady stayed the same. They were awful together in this movie and it made absolutely no sense. My first main problem with this movie is Brady and Mack. But I never knew how bad an ending could be until it happened. While watching this movie I realized how boring it could get. that's 2 hours of my life I'll never get back. As for me? This was the lame movie I thought I was avoiding the first time around. My son is still holding out for redemption in a Teen Beach 3. I'd been holding my tongue with pretty much the same sentiment since the movie started. Even my youngest who always thinks the sequel (or any most recent movie he's seen) is the best movie ever, looked sadly to me afterward and said he expected better. So needless to say, over recent months the excitement has been building in our household in anticipation for the premiere of Teen Beach 2. It was fun, funny, and the tunes were so catchy, we still break out into them from time to time in our house. It was a cute premise that paid homage to the old goofy classics in a really charming way. Having grown up on Beach Blanket Bingo films, I loved what Disney did with this parody in the original film. Yes, I'll admit it - I was a late-40's mom who fell in love with Teen Beach Movie. and watched it with them again, and again, and again. Finally, I sat down to watch the whole thing. Two years ago the idea of a Disney musical about kids on a beach sounded kinda lame to me, but I kept getting drawn in as I walked by the TV as my kids watched the original Teen Beach Movie. a disjointed story, less then memorable tunes, and plenty of missed opportunities. What if their 2015 selves met Clayton and Phipps? Turn that one over in your mind for a third Teen Beach movie.Ĭan't believe after a two year wait this was the best Disney could come up with. In the movie if the real players who were Clayton and Phipps when they were younger, if they're not dead would now be even older than I am and on social security. It's obvious that Disney Studios is going to stretch this out like they did with the High School Musical series. The performers are scrubbed clean and fresh and are attractive as you would expect anything from the Magic Kingdom to be. The film actually asks some intriguing questions but in the end you have to remember this is a Disney film and meant for juvenile audiences who don't think so terribly deep. Now it's Clayton and Phipps who turn things upside down and have to get back to their world. And those folks meet an inevitable end when they venture beyond their Holodeck world. Like characters from the Holodeck of the Enterprise. Pretty soon however the whole cast even the extras come over into the real world. The lead characters from the film Garret Clayton and Grace Phipps step into the real world and their Sixties frame of mind gets quite a culture shock when they see the world of 2015. Ross Lynch and Maia Mitchell step into the world of that movie and change things just by being there and then have to leave, but not before repairing all the damage they've done. The original film dealt with a pair of fans from today who think the original movie from the early Kennedy era Sixties is the greatest piece of cinema ever made. This sequel to Teen Beach Movie by the Disney Studio strays more into fantasy than the original.
